The magnificent 'Jasmin et des Jonquilles' (Bevlar S30) by Tor Bruce a k a Utz Utz Utz Utz is now available for download! To avoid suffocation from all the cuteness of his regular electro pop music, Tor Bruce sometimes has to put on his black mask and let off steam through his alias Utz Utz Utz Utz. Under his own name though, he is probably most recognized for his cover of Björk's 'Army of Me', which was officially approved by Björk herself and released on her own initiative in 2005. Despite... May Nilsson has made music for almost 20 years on and off in various unknown bands and on her own. It all began 1980 in the Stockholm suburb of Salem when she was introduced to coffee, Kraftwerk and Joy Division by three male friends. Later came early Hip Hop and the on going history of electronic dance music. In the mid 80´s May bought a Sequential Circuits Pro One, her first synth. It cost a fortune and soon was stolen in a rehearsal room. But it had an arpeggiator, an obsession since then....
21 year old producer Mr Slide (real name Michiel Gardner) from Holland started DJing and organizing parties in 2001 and soon found himself spinning records alongside the Dutch elite - people like Laidback Luke and Benjamin Bates. Michiel's production skills got his CDRs into many record bags and we guarantee you'll hear a lot more of Mr Slide in the near future! We're proud to present two of his best productions, 'Afterdawn' and 'Kiss The Ground' - free as always - on Bevlar User!
Peter Sonnert's (formerly Dedacia) long-awaited follow-up to the 2004 Bevlar classic 'Muscle Man' - 'Easy Care Suicide' - is finally out! The track comes in three excellent versions: The clever arrangement and the euro-cheese vibe of the Edit, the mixable Original, and finally the dark moody Club version - enjoy!
The best of Bevlar and sublabel Bevlar User's output in 2005. Electropop, techno and house by artists like Ozgur Can & Dumb Dan, On An Ocean Amp, The Adjuster / Mashtronic, Rasmus, Cryo and more. ( 1 reviews )
Özgür Can is one of the hottest prog / tech house producers at the moment with a myriad of wicked 12s out on various labels. Dumb Dan runs Bevlar and Bevlar User, his latest critically acclaimed ep 'Gotta Maintain / Luv Hz' recently came out on Jivetrax. Remixes by Cryo (Bevlar) and Nihad Tule (Jackmoves).
Swedish DJ and producer Staf, real name Staffan Thorsell, now lives in Switzerland. As part of the MoD crew he has released a number of 12s and remixes on various labels, such as Soulfuric and Look At You. Under his new moniker Killswitch Rocker, Staf now moves towards electro, dub and old school acid house.
The complete Bevlar User back catalogue, releases 1-12. This compilation sums up the first year and a half of Bevlar User - mostly house, some techno and a lot of cool tracks! Don't miss: Rasmus - 'Sacrifice', The Adjuster - 'Buffalo' and 'Sideshow Tune' - and 'Grus' by Nattvaktaren! ( 2 reviews )

As it is coming up to our one year birthday, we wish to give you something quite special. We have the first two producers ever to feature under the Bevlar banner, Rasmus and Cryo, remixing each other's first two tracks 'Hollywood' and 'Moskau' . ( 1 reviews )
Last Month we gave you Mike McGuire's Bevlar debut, the three track EP 'A Very Small Plant In A Very Small Room'. This time we let Doubleheader and Nattvaktaren both have a go at interpreting and reconstructing the title track - and they sure did... Doubleheader's remix is dubby, melodic yet strangely faithful to the original, while Nattvaktaren provides a different take on the melody loops - and some of his characteristic noises too!
Nattvaktaren's 'Lamb's Bread' is a bit odd: While the original is interesting with its lo-fi sound textures and quirky rhythm, it is the remixes that really stand out on this release! First up is Rasmus' trancey breaks remix - great stuff as always! Also featured on the single is Dumb Dan's pumpin' house mix that is likely to attract interest from DJs and dancers.
Finally, the new Mike McGuire release 'Water Bloom' is available! The shiny, melodic microhouse track evokes pictures of modern city centres and tall buildings, perhaps just like Mike McGuire's new hometown, Tokyo. Featured on the single are remixes by Doubleheader, Cryo & Checkpoint Charlie and Dumb Dan.
The follow-up to last year's Stocker single 'Saturday Night' (Bevlar S04) is finally here! Just like on the last release, Inko Perä provides the guitars and this time occasional collaborator and singer Tony Wednesdays adds a melancholic twist to the bouncy beats. The cast of creative remixers take the track to new territories: From Stockholm based Joe KickAss, half of the Now In Stereo production team, comes a dark and moody remix full of attitude. Doubleheader heads off in a completely...
It took quite some time, but we finally got The Adjuster to give us a new track. Johan has been busy working on various tracks for other labels, such as Eyezcream and Sugarland Records so we're very pleased to be able to offer you this comparatively quiet gem. 'Over His Heart' is classic house music; Lots of emotion in a great sad-but-uplifting kind of way, while still retaining the funk. We love this one and we're sure you will too! On the single is both a shorter edit and the original.
Like Doubleheader's last single 'Komiyen', 'Spalding' pays homage to the past. Only this time, Doubleheader revisits the early days of electro and combines it with the big beat sample-anything attitude, and comes up with this spectacular track! Funky breaks, screaming synths and a helium abuser chanting about New York being "Party city!" - you'd think it couldn't get any better. But it can! The Adjuster certainly is the man of the moment: his brand new collaboration with The End is...
Set firmly in another decade, this funny work-out anthem is the label debut for Sweden's Dedacia. A bunch of remixes are in the works, but we just couldn't wait for them to be finished, so we decided to release this now, as a classic two-track single. "I want to gain more muscle power, I must improve my strength. And if I train, at least one hour, then I can be a Muscle Man." Genius.
"Big Beat" is not yet back in fashion, but Cryo doesn't care. Without stopping to think he bangs out party beats just the way we like 'em. Rasmus was leader of the breaks pack back in '97 and with his remix of 'What Goes Up' he certainly proves he's still got the swing.
On this downtempo release, Lindeberg covers The Pointer Sisters 'Dare Me', famously sampled by Junior Jack and Dave Armstrong on 'Stupidisco' and 'Make Your Move' respectively. Also featured on the ep is Lindebergs version of Swedish reggae man Peps Perssons 'Hog Standard'.
Stocker's 'Saturday Night' is more, much more pop than most of our releases. Although the tune doesn't quite fit the label profile (jump-up teenage disco?) we simply had to let you hear it and hear it now, this summer. Of course Cryo's breaks remix puts the track right back in place and Doubleheader's two remixes provide the proper old school finish (in two very different ways, as you'll hear...) while Rasmus and his collaborator Andy Marlow sweetens 'Saturday Night' even more.
Bevlar is proud to present a new single from Doubleheader; 'Komiyen' is his first release on the label. Both the title track and the flip, 'Autoarp', is a nod to old school dance music and the anything goes attitude towards sampling and music making of the late 80's and early 90's. We love it and so will you.
This downtempo oddball electronica release from the Bevlar label manager has already been getting some attention from swedish national radio. The title track is built around German crooner Greta Rootstein's delirious take on the Blondie classic, lifted from the short film Bitter Memoirs of Obsession. Also on the single is Lindeberg's cover of Swedish duo Adolphson & Falk's Blinkar Blå, here called 'Krafter Dub'.
'Hollywood' is our very first release. It's Rasmus' first release since his storming 2001 'Men of The 303' 12" (co-produced by the Speaker Pimps) on Smitten and it's killer stuff; a fast disco house stomper that is guaranteed to make people dance. The single features the original version, a radio edit and remixes from The Adjuster and Daniel Lindeberg.
Most of the acts connected to Bevlar provide their take on the criminally catchy 'Komiyen' track and we're proud to present some of our best music yet: Rasmus' remix kicks hard in the same style of his 'Hollywood' tune; great bassline, stunning chord changes and Homer Simpson asking for drugs! Cryo teams up with his mate Checkpoint Charlie and delivers perhaps his best work to date; the techy and dark HCI Remix. Daniel Lindeberg stays faithful to the original and German veteran DJ Hellbent goes...
Slightly harder and quite a bit faster than what you might have come to expect from a new Bevlar release, Rasmus' new double a-side single is still full of emotion and big melody hooks. The creative vocoder work on 'Get Busy' and the melancholy and hands-in-the-air feel of the Stephen Stills sampling 'Alone', the snappy rhythms, hard synths and crisp production makes this one of our best releases yet! The long-awaited 'Resources', with nine remixes on the release, is here! This time we wanted not only our own talented group of artists when it came to remixing the tune - we asked some of our favourite producers to do their version of 'Resources', and they accepted! Respect to these established artists for supporting the netlabel idea! The single kicks off with the hard hitting electro monster that is the original version. Cryo and Checkpoint Charlie certainly have found their own unique sound... ( 1 reviews ) Topic: Electronic
The Adjuster's 'Over His Heart' was a huge success when released on the main Bevlar label in January; heavy support from djs and radio and many many downloads proved we were right: This track is killer stuff! We asked the busy Mashtronic crew to remix it for us, and a good job they did! The result is a magic blend of Adjuster's soaring strings and heartfelt vocoder vocals, and that trademark Mashtronic electro roughness that has placed them on Digweed's chart, DJ Magazine's hype list, and in... Our first release on Bevlar 2.0 is Mike McGuire's electropop outfit, On An Ocean Amp's quirky 'New Clicky' (Bevlar S20), featuring remixes from Dumb Dan and Dedacia. On An Ocean Amp released their debut album 2003 and have since continued to develop their mix of McGuire's skittery synths and Kaori Hashimoto's sweet vocals. (Never mind she sings about smashing peoples heads into concrete.) Dumb Dan's remix is all-out electro and has gained some DJ support, Dedacia does his usual italo trash...
